Designed for students 14 years old and up, our programs are designed to develop a passion about aviation and STEAM education. With a focus on equity and inclusion, we provide opportunities for young learners to explore their interests, gain new skills, and prepare for future careers in these exciting fields. Our programs offer hands-on experiences, mentorship from industry professionals, and the chance to collaborate with peers on real-world projects. Whether you’re interested in aviation, engineering, or computer science and design, our programs provide a supportive and engaging environment to help everyone reach their potential.

Aerospace College and Career Exploration and Selection System

ACCESS

Ages: 14-21

Aerospace College and Career Exploration and Selection System (ACCESS) is an  introduction to our six core topics: Aeronautics, Airframe-Powerplant & Avionics, Solar System, Commercial Space Travel, Drones, and Robotics.

ACCESS Phase II: Ground School

Ages: 15-21

Explore the world of flight and learn what it takes to become a pilot during our 6 week private pilot Ground School. This 6 week program is held online via zoom and runs from 5:00pm-6:30pm Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Pre-requisites apply.

After School 3D Design Club in Portland, Oregon for 11-18 year olds

After School 3D Design Club: Portland, OR

Ages: 11-18

The Aerospace Training Center (ATC) in Portland will facilitate an after school design and 3D printing club/program for students. This is a structured after school club and students should plan to attend the entire session each week. Starts January 23, 2023

After School Programming: Thursdays 4:30-6pm. Free weekly after school STEAM club for 11-18 year olds.

After School Program: Vancouver, WA

Ages: 11-18

The Hangar at Pearson Field offers a general STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) club for students from 4:30-6:00pm on Thursdays during the school year. Registration required.

After School Programming: Monday-Friday 3-6pm. Free homework help, flight simulators, Kerbal Lab, STEAM activities, and more for ages 11-18.

Drop-In After School Program: Portland, OR

Ages: 11-18

The Aerospace Training Center (ATC) in Portland offers drop-in after school programs for students Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 6:00pm during the school year. Flight simulators, Kerbal Space Program, STEAM activities, and homework help will be available. Registration required.

Field Trips

Ages: 7-18

Airway Science for Kids offers aviation and STEM-focused field trips. Bring your class for a fun, unique, and informative field trip that complements your lesson plans!

Homeschool Days

Ages: 11-18

Join Airway Science for a monthly half-day program series that delves into engaging STEAM topics. Each month, instructors facilitate students’ exploration of topics through lessons and hands-on activities. Homeschool Days are designed to encourage curiosity and spark conversations long after students head home.

Open Saturday

Ages: All Ages

Welcome to Open Saturday at Education Center on Pearson Field in Vancouver, WA!

Join us on Saturdays from 10am-3pm for a day of STEAM education through aviation. Our center is perfect for youth of all ages to experience hands-on learning and exploration.

Summer Camps

Ages: 7-16

This year’s format focuses primarily on the principles of flight and accessibility for youth of all ages. Camps will be divided by age groups and take place at our Aerospace Training Center (Portland, OR), Pearson Field Education Center (Vancouver, WA), and partner locations (Hillsboro, OR) each week.

Ages: 14-21

Students, ages 14-21, work together to build a two-seat RV-12 aircraft under the guidance of a team of Mentors. This project requires a two year commitment of every Saturday during the school year, from 9am to 3pm.
