Free Summer Meals 2024

Summer break doesn’t need to be a cause of food insecurity for your family.

Check out these local programs that offer free meals for children under 18 in locations across the Portland-Metro Region. Spread the word and help no child go hungry! Dates and times vary but each programs has this rule in common: Children must be present to receive a meal and meals must be consumed at the site of service.

Each link also has information on how to donate food or time to these programs to help support your community!

Vancouver, WA – June 24 to August 9

This year’s program will operate June
24th to August 9th. A list of dates and time will be available in early June.

No paperwork is needed and personal information is not collected.

Portland, OR – June 24 to August 23 (dates vary!)

Play for days at Free Lunch + Play, where kids come to share a meal together and have fun in the sun!

Monday through Friday from 10am-2pm. Meals provided by Portland Public Schools, Centennial School District, Parkrose School District and David Douglas School District and adhere to the USDA Federal Lunch Program rules and regulations.

Hillsboro, OR – June 24 to August 15

During the summer months, Hillsboro School District sponsors free lunch in six locations. Meals are intended for children between the ages of 1 and 18, one per person. Children must be present to receive a meal and meals must be consumed at the site of service.

Farmers Markets and SNAP

If you’re a recipient of Oregon Trail Card SNAP benefits, you can take advantage of the Double Up Food Bucks program by shopping at participating farmers markets. For every $20 you spend at these markets, you’ll receive an additional $20 to purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables.
