Remembering D-Day

This month we commemorate the solemn 80th anniversary of the historic D-Day landings. It is a day of honor and remembrance for the sacrifices made by brave soldiers, but it is also a day of celebration as it symbolizes the beginning of liberation for countless lives.

In 2019, VECTORS, now part of Airway Science, embarked on an incredible Virtual Field Trip to Normandy. Collaborating with our host Das from Kerbal Space Academy, we embarked on a mission to capture the stories and sights of this significant location. With the help of our LiveU pack, we accessed exclusive areas, providing you with a truly immersive and one-of-a-kind experience.

We are honored to share the highlights of this remarkable journey with all of you. Watch paradrops in Normandy, listen to an interview with 101st Airborne veteran Norwood Thomas, take part in a tour of G-PBYA “Miss Pick Up,” experience a silent walk through the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach, and much more.

Through carefully crafted videos, our aim is to transport you to the heart of this event and honor the bravery of those who fought for freedom. Watch the highlights here:  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsEMDuuOSkkekHjByIJKdAEEm22QG0B1Y

We also invite you to take a look at our behind-the-scenes video, providing an intimate glimpse into the unforgettable moments and emotions we encountered during this journey of remembrance and celebration.

Join us on this extraordinary adventure as we navigate through challenges, capture the essence of historic sites, and engage with the remarkable stories that unfolded before our eyes.

Juneteenth

Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19th, marks the end of slavery in the United States. A On this day in 1865, Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, TX, and declared the end of the Civil War and slavery. Despite the Emancipation Proclamation being issued over two years prior, many enslaved individuals remained in bondage until this announcement. Juneteenth serves as a powerful symbol of African-American freedom and the ongoing struggle for equality.
