In the month of June, we solemnly commemorate the historic 79th anniversary of the D-Day landings. D-Day holds a special significance as we honor the sacrifices made by brave soldiers and celebrate the beginning of liberation for countless lives.

Back in 2019, VECTORS, now part of Airway Science, embarked on an incredible Virtual Field Trip to Normandy, France for the 75th commemoration of D-Day. Teaming up with our host Das of KerbalSpaceAcademy, we embarked on a mission to capture the stories and sights of this significant location. Thanks to the mobility the compact size of our LiveU streaming pack afforded us, we had unimpeded access to areas that offered a truly immersive and unique experience and were able to stream the experience live to viewers on Twitch for hours on end.

We are thrilled to share the highlights of this remarkable journey with all of you. Witness the breathtaking paradrops in Normandy, listen to the heartfelt interview with 101st Airborne veteran Norwood Thomas, embark on a tour of G-PBYA “Miss Pick Up,” experience a poignant walk through the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach, and much more. We were honored and humbled to be able to make this journey and share in this celebration of liberation across these locations, and through carefully crafted videos, our aim is to transport you to the heart of these momentous events and honor the bravery of those who fought for freedom. But that’s not all! We invite you to join us on an exclusive behind-the-scenes adventure with our newly released video. Get a glimpse into the unforgettable moments and emotions we encountered during this journey of remembrance and celebration. As we navigate through challenges, capture the essence of historic sites, and engage with the remarkable stories that unfolded before our eyes, you’ll discover the untold stories and the spirit of resilience that continues to inspire us today. Watch the behind-the-scenes video here.

Let us come together in the month of June to honor the heroes of D-Day and pay tribute to their unwavering bravery and selflessness. Their sacrifices paved the path to freedom and democracy.
